After the conclusion of Mass Effect 3, the fate of the Mass Effect franchise was up in the air. BioWare had made their mark on the age of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 with the sci-fi RPG, but where could the series go from where they left it? A galaxy in shambles, the central protagonist's story done, and the weight of expectations made a direct follow-up all but impossible. However, BioWare went ahead and made one anyway. After an immensely troubled development period, the world was introduced to a brand new galaxy in Mass Effect: Andromeda!... which was immediately dogpiled under the crushing weight of criticism of its odd animations, dilapidated structure, and flat story.

Josh Silverman joins the podcast to make a counter-argument and have you asking: Is Mass Effect: Andromeda one of the best games of all-time?

From humble beginnings as a Kickstarter project to becoming one of the biggest indie darlings of 2016, Hyper Light Drifter has quite the history of defying expectations. Gorgeous pixel art animations and vistas, dialogue-less storytelling, and a fantastic soundtrack by Disasterpeace came together to tell a gripping tale about a lone wanderer in a sci-fi apocalypse.

While all of the pieces come together for a solid game, do they gel well enough to create something considered one of the best games of all-time?

BioShock Infinite, the swan song of Ken Levine's now defunct Irrational Games studio, release in 2013 to critical and commercial success. Over the years it has been subject to countless think pieces and theory articles diving into its esoteric world and thick layer of semiotics. It also found itself in something like a controversy surrounding criticism of its use of graphic violence.

Now that it has been half a decade since its release, does BioShock Infinite stand as one of the best games of all-time? Is it the best BioShock of the series? Listen in to find out!

In the surreal, darkly magical world of We Know the Devil, troublesome teenagers are sent to a summer camp that aims to straighten them out - by pitting them against the devil armed only with one another and some crappy (seemingly magic?) radios. This is the story of Venus, Jupiter, and Neptune as they go into the woods on one of their last days at camp....

Could this visual novel from Aevee Bee and the team at Pillow Fight Games be one of the best games of all-time?

Outro music: Final Fantasy X-2 'So It Goes' by Kabukibear (http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR03779)
